Cefuroxime Axetil 500mg  Tablet

MODE OF ACTION

Cefuroxime serves as a β-lactam antibiotic by- Binding to 1 or more of the penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs).Inhibition of the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis in bacterial cell walls. Inhibition of cell wall biosynthesis and arresting cell wall assembly resulting in bacterial cell death.

• SSTIs
• UTIs
• Bone & joint infections
• Pharyngitis/Sinusitis/Tonsillitis
• Community Acquired Pneumonia
• Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis

DOSAGE

≥13yrs: Pharyngitis/tonsillitis, sinusitis: 250mg twice daily for 10 days. AECB, SSSI: 250–500mg twice daily for 10 days. UTIs: 250mg twice daily for 7–10 days. Gonorrhea: 1g as a single dose.
